Nissan has teamed up with Sumitomo Corp to form 4R Energy Corp, which will take the old battery cells from their LEAF EV and analyze them in a plant in Japan for reusability. Cells which perform with a capacity of 80% or higher will be used in replacement battery packs for the LEAF.
